Five Pillars of Islam

Five Pillars of Islam.

Five Pillars of Islam

  The Five Pillars of Islam

Islam is the religion of peace and belief in Allah (God). The main theme of Islamic philosophy is based on the five most fundamental things that are called the five pillars of islam. These five pillars of islam are as follows:

1. Faith or belief in Allah that is to believe Allah is one who has created everything and to believe Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last prophet, the messanger of Allah among human being.

2. Iqamatus Salat that is establishing prayers five times a day.

3. Giving Zakat that is spending from what Allah has given you to the poor i.e alms giving.

4. Sawm that is fasting during Ramadan fearing Allah.

5. Hajj that is the pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able both physically and financially.

Iman or Faith

“No one except Allah (God) is worthy for worship and Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last messenger of Allah (God) among mankind” This declaration of faith is called the Shahadath, a simple formula that all the faithful pronounce. This is one of the five pillars of Islam. Pronouncing this statement a person believes in islamic philosophy, obey Allah (God) and practices the teaching and activities of the last prophet. What is Prayer

What is Prayer?

Prayer means bow down head towards Allah (God) with modesty and simplicity keeping faith in mind that Allah (God) is the creator of everything including human being and jines.Allah ( God) says in the holy Quran “There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Beneficent (Allah) as a slave.” ( Surah Maryam, Verse-93)

When a human being surrender himself to Allah( God) with humble submission, gently and with modesty than this called prayer. Prayer means to show gratitude towards Allah at all conditions. To fear Allah, Love Allah, comply with his rules and regulations described in the holy book, the Quran at all things of life such as personal life, family life, social life as well as country life.

The aim of doing everything to satisfy Allah (God) is prayer. Allah (God) has taken commitment from human being only to pray him no one else. As Allah says in the holy quran

“(It will be said): “And O you Al-Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, disbelievers in the Islamic Monotheism, wicked evil ones, etc.)! Get you apart this Day (from the believers).Did I not ordain for you, O Children of Adam, that you should not worship Shaitan (Satan). Verily, he is a plain enemy to you. And that you should worship Me(Allah) [Alone Islamic Monotheism, and set up not rivals, associate-gods with Me]. That is a Straight Path.” (Surah Ya-Sin Verses 59-61)

Establishing Salat,Keef Fasting during Ramadan,Giving Jakat,Going For Hajj, remembering Allah via jikir, Durud and salam for Muhammad Sm(peace be upon him) etc are some prayer that train human being for practicing prayer in whole life to acquire satisfaction of the almighty Allah(God). Allah says in the Quran

“Say (O Muhammad Sm: “I am only a man like you. It has been inspired to me that your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God i.e. Allah). So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord.” Ref:Sura Al Kahf verse:110)

“The Messenger (Muhammad) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say, “We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers” – and they say, “We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all).” (Ref: Surah Al Baqara Verse 285)

“Jins and Insaans are created only to pray none but me(Allah) nothing else” (Ref: Surah Jariat verse:51)

27. And proclaim to mankind the Hajj (pilgrimage). They will come to you on foot and on every lean camel, they will come from every deep and distant (wide) mountain highway (to perform Hajj).

28. That they may witness things that are of benefit to them (i.e. reward of Hajj in the Hereafter, and also some worldly gain from trade, etc.), and mention the Name of Allah on appointed days (i.e. 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th day of Dhul-Hijjah), over the beast of cattle that He has provided for them (for sacrifice) (at the time of their slaughtering by saying: Bismillah, Wallahu-Akbar, Allahumma Minka wa Ilaik). Then eat thereof and feed therewith the poor who have a very hard time.

29. Then let them complete the prescribed duties (Manasik of Hajj) for them, and perform their vows, and circumambulate the Ancient House (the Ka’bah at Makkah).

30. That (Manasik prescribed duties of Hajj is the obligation that mankind owes to Allah), and whoever honours the sacred things of Allah, then that is better for him with his Lord. The cattle are lawful to you, except those (that will be) mentioned to you (as exceptions). So shun the abomination (worshipping) of idol, and shun lying speech (false statements)

31. Hunafa’ Lillah (i.e. to worship none but Allah), not associating partners (in worship, etc.) unto Him and whoever assigns partners to Allah, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, and the birds had snatched him, or the wind had thrown him to a far off place.

32. Thus it is [what has been mentioned in the above said Verses (27, 28, 29, 30, 31) is an obligation that mankind owes to Allah]. And whosoever honours the Symbols of Allah, then it is truly from the piety of the heart.

(Ref: Surah Hajj Verses:27-32)

Personal and Collective Impact of Prayer:

Performing Fundamental prayers to the point purify soul.

Allah Says in the Quran “Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islamic Monotheism) shall achieve success. And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allah), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawafil additional prayers).” (Reference:Surah A’la Verses:14-15)

Fundamental prayers bring peace in mind.

Allah Says in the Quran” Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest .” (Ref: Surah Ar Rad Verse:28)

By Fundamental prayers a person may be benefited both in spiritual and material life.

Allah Says in the Quran” O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allah, He will grant you Furqan a criterion [(to judge between right and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. making a way for you to get out from every difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you, and Allah is the Owner of the Great Bounty.” (Ref Surah Anfal Verse:29)

By Fundamental prayers human and jins remember Allah and Allah also remember them.

Allah Says in the Quran” Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying, etc.). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me.”(Ref:Surah Al Baqara Verse:152)

O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance. And glorify His Praises morning and afternoon [the early morning (Fajr) and ‘Asr prayers]. He it is Who sends Salat (His blessings) on you, and His angels too (ask Allah to bless and forgive you), that He may bring you out from darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of Belief and Islamic Monotheism). And He is Ever Most Merciful to the believers.”(Ref: Surah Al Ahjab Verses:41-43)

Fundamental prayers definitely brings help from Allah and give victory to the believers over the world.

Allah Says in the Quran” Those who have been expelled from their homes unjustly only because they said: “Our Lord is Allah.” – For had it not been that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, wherein the Name of Allah is mentioned much would surely have been pulled down. Verily, Allah will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.

Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) order for Iqamat-as-Salat. [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salat (prayers) (the males in mosques)], to pay the Zakat and they enjoin Al-Ma’ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism and all that Islam has forbidden) [i.e. they make the Qur’an as the law of their country in all the spheres of life]. And with Allah rests the end of (all) matters (of creatures). (Ref:Surah Al Hajj Verses:40-41)

Fundamental prayers increases collective relationships, brotherhood etc among the believers.

Allah Says in the Quran” The believers, men and women, are Auliya’ (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma’ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); they perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give the Zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.(Ref:Surah At Taubah:71)

4. And who believe in (the Qur’an and the Sunnah) which has been sent down (revealed) to you (Muhammad Peace be upon him ) and in [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.] which were sent down before you and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.).

5. They are on (true) guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful.

177. It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, and each and every act of obedience to Allah, etc.) that you turn your faces towards east and (or) west (in prayers); but Al-Birr is (the quality of) the one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, the Prophets and gives his wealth, in spite of love for it, to the kinsfolk, to the orphans, and to Al-Masakin (the poor), and to the wayfarer, and to those who ask, and to set slaves free, performs As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and gives the Zakat, and who fulfill their covenant when they make it, and who are As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.) in extreme poverty and ailment (disease) and at the time of fighting (during the battles). Such are the people of the truth and they are Al-Muttaqun(The Believers)

218. Verily, those who have believed, and those who have emigrated (for Allah’s Religion) and have striven hard in the Way of Allah, all these hope for Allah’s Mercy. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.

(Ref: Surah Al Baqara Verses 3-5,177,285)

16. Those who say: “Our Lord! We have indeed believed, so forgive us our sins and save us from the punishment of the Fire.”

17. (They are) those who are patient ones, those who are true (in Faith, words, and deeds), and obedient with sincere devotion in worship to Allah. Those who spend [give the Zakat and alms in the Way of Allah] and those who pray and beg Allah’s Pardon in the last hours of the night.

Unto each, Allah has promised good (Paradise), but Allah has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward;

136. O you who believe! Believe in Allah, and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and the Book (the Qur’an) which He has sent down to His Messenger, and the Scripture which He sent down to those before (him), and whosoever disbelieves in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, then indeed he has strayed far away.

The Quran

What is the Quran

The Quran is the most fundamental and the greatest miracles of Islam for Muhammad(Peace be upon him), the last prophet of Islam. The quran is sent by the almighty and the most wise Allah for the mankind and jinnes to follow it to stay on the easy and simple path that is accepted by Allah. No human or jinnes or Saitan is  able to create a book as the Quran. This is the challenge from the creator Allah. No one is able to destroy it. Allah is the creator and Allah is the preserver of the holy Quran. Allah has sent it to recite and follow it.It is the resource of all  knowledge, hidayat and analysis for the wise.

Quarn according to  the holy Quran

What is Quran and Why it is sent from Allah?

2. This is the Book (the Quran), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)].

(Ref: Surah Al-Baqarah  verse:2)

103. And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (i.e. this Quran), and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allah’s Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islamic Faith), and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.,) clear to you, that you may be guided.

138. This (the Quran) is a plain statement for mankind, a guidance and instruction to those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious – see V.2:2).

(Ref: Surah Al-Imran  verses:103,138)

105. Thus We explain variously the Verses so that they (the disbelievers) may say: “You have studied (the Books of the people of the Scripture and brought this Quran from that)” and that We may make the matter clear for the people who have knowledge.

155. And this is a blessed Book (the Quran) which We have sent down, so follow it and fear Allah (i.e. do not disobey His Orders), that you may receive mercy (i.e. saved from the torment of Hell).

156. Lest you (pagan Arabs) should say: “The Book was only sent down to two sects before us (the Jews and the Christians), and for our part, we were in fact unaware of what they studied.”

(Ref:Surah Al Anam  Verses 105,155,156)

1. Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].

2. (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad sm), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers.

(Ref:Surah Al Araf  Verses 1,2)

1. All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has sent down to His slave (Muhammad ) the Book (the Quran), and has not placed therein any crookedness.

2. (He has made it) Straight to give warning (to the disbelievers) of a severe punishment from Him, and to give glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), who work righteous deeds, that they shall have a fair reward (i.e. Paradise).

(Ref:Surah Al Kahaf Verses 1,2)

10. Indeed, We have sent down for you (O mankind) a Book, (the Quran) in which there is Dhikrukum, (your Reminder or an honour for you i.e. honour for the one who follows the teaching of the Quran and acts on its orders). Will you not then understand?

50. And this is a blessed Reminder (the Quran) which We have sent down, will you then (dare to) deny it?

Who was Jesus (Isa)

About Jesus (Isa)

Jesus (Isa Ibne Mariam) is a prophet (Messenger) of Allah (God). This is mentioned in the Holy Quran as well as Ingil (Gosfel).Ha was born in Bony Israel without father from Mariam (Mary) according to the order of Allah. Jesus was given the ability to perform miracles (such as healing the blind, bringing dead people back to life, etc.), all by the permission of God rather than of his own power. According to the popular opinion and Muslim traditions, Jesus was not crucified but instead, he was raised up by Allah (God) unto the heavens. This “raising” is understood to mean through bodily ascension. According to Quran he will again come  to this world when Allah wish and  will be a follower of Islam and rule the world will marry and will die a general death.

Jesus (Isa) in the Quran

Jesus is not son of Allah rather he was a man and a prophet(Messenger) of Allah

17. Surely, in disbelief are they who say that Allah is the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary) . Say (O Muhammad ): “Who then has the least power against Allah, if He were to destroy the Messiah, son of Maryam (Mary), his mother, and all those who are on the earth together?” And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them. He creates what He wills. And Allah is Able to do all things.

18. And (both) the Jews and the Christians say: “We are the children of Allah and His loved ones.” Say: “Why then does He punish you for your sins?” Nay, you are but human beings, of those He has created, He forgives whom He wills and He punishes whom He wills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and to Him is the return (of all).

75. The Messiah [‘Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary), was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother [Maryam (Mary)] was a Siddiqah [i.e. she believed in the words of Allah and His Books (see Verse 66:12)]. They both used to eat food (as any other human being, while Allah does not eat). Look how We make the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them, yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth).

(Ref:Surah Al-Ma’idah Verses:17-18,75; 1:2:17-18,75)

30. And the Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah(Jesus) is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah’s Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!

31. They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah (by obeying them in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered by Allah), and (they also took as their Lord) Messiah(Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), while they (Jews and Christians) were commanded [in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)) to worship none but One Ilah (God – Allah) La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) . Praise and glory be to Him, (far above is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).”

(Ref:Surah At-Taubah Verses:30,31;  10:9:30-31)

59. He [‘Iesa (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel (i.e. his creation without a father).

(Ref:Surah Az-Zukhruf Verse:59); (25:43:59)

What is hijab?

Hijab

Many Muslims around the world practice hijab, which is Arabic for cover, but is extended to mean modesty and privacy. For non-Muslims, hijab is most often associated with the modest clothing that Muslim women wear. In actuality, hijab is practiced by both men and women, and includes other requirements of modest behavior. Muslims follow the rules of hijab to show their submission to and love for Allah.

The rules for hijab are discussed in the Hadith, an oral tradition which accompanies the Qur’an and helps proscribe the ways of Muslim life. According to the Hadith, men and women should behave modestly in situations where they meet each other. Modest behavior includes averting your eyes from someone of the opposite sex, speaking with respect to one another, and not touching members of the opposite sex.

The Hadith also includes rules for dressing. Both men and women are directed to cover themselves when they are in public areas. For men, following hijab means that the body should be covered at a minimum from the navel to the knees in loose, opaque clothing. Some interpretations of the Hadith suggest that the covering should be longer, from the navel to the ankles. All agree that the modest covering should be worn at all times, including prayer. So perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), give Zakat and hold fast to Allah [i.e. have confidence in Allah, and depend upon Him in all your affairs] He is your Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.), what an Excellent Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.) and what an Excellent Helper!
